From the British Wireless service and reported in The New York Times.

The Duke of Brunswick, who is married to Kaiser Wilhelm's daughter,  has abdicated,  according to a telegram received at Copenhagen by way of Berlin.

Prince Ernst August of Hannover, Duke of Brunswick, married Princess Viktoria Luise on May 24,  1913.  They have three children, Prince Ernst August, born in 1914, Prince Georg Wilhelm, born 1915, and Princess Friederike, who was born in 1917.

The Duke is the son of the Duke of Cumberland, son of the late King Georg V of Hannover and first cousin to the late Queen Victoria.   Hannover was absorbed by Prussia in 1866.
The Duchess of Cumberland -- Princess Thyra of Denmark -- is the younger sister of the Queen Mother Alexandra and the Dowager Empress of Russia.

The Duke of Brunswick's two sisters,  Marie and Alexandra, are married to Prince Max of Baden and the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, respectively.
